Blog of The Year Award

I am overwhelmed and touched.  My friend Jen, who writes the most beautiful poetrhas nominated me for not one, but three awards in the last few weeks. I thank you, mumsy for being such a warm, kind and funny person, for cheerfully commenting on my posts, for making me laugh uncontrollably, and for taking the time to read my blog. Jen hails from my home – Australia.

Without further ado, I will now nominate some of my favorite blogs for this award. Please check them out when you have a minute :

Monica Medina for her humor( she makes me laugh out loud), for saying it like it is, for having a direct link to royalty( check out her blog and you’ll know what I mean) for being a devoted Colin Firth fan( she supports every letter I write, no matter how delusional they are) and for getting me involved in the PBS race 2012 blogging project. It meant a lot to me. She encouraged our voices, got us thinking, painting and feeling. She is just a lovely person.

The lovely Mika for her inspiring words, thoughts, quotes and life lessons. Her creativity alone should win an award, since I don’t have one for that, I nominate her for daring to be honest, for having the courage to take matters into her own hands and carve out her own path, for being so compassionate and kind. An amazing writer, please check out her blog.

http://ramblingsfromamum.wordpress.com/- mumsy as she is affectionately known has such a funny, tender, warm way of writing that I really look forward her posts. I felt a close virtual friendship/ mumship in the works almost immediately. She has a wealth of experience, having raised two girls of her own and her writing is very reflective of what it is to be a mum. She is the author of ‘The Empty Nest – A Mother’s Hidden Grief. It is available  to download from Amazon and Lulu.com. Such a fabulous lady.

http://butziandthebee.com/- Megan is someone I’ve recently discovered. She is truly inspiring. She has further inspired me to continue on my quest to become completely plant-based and make time for yoga, everyday, no matter how tired I am. Megan has the most amazing story to tell and boy can she cook. I’ve tried some of her recipes, they really do work. She is a complete vegetarian. There are many options on her blog if you are looking to be on a plant-based diet.

http://skbsbooknook.wordpress.com/ – The booknook is truly appropriate, for Sanjee is the only other person I know and can speak with about having an incredible connection with books. I trust her lists, recommendations and reviews as we share a fantastic virtual partnership with our mutual fondness for the written word. Every genre is a welcome guest on Sanjee’s shelf.

Amanda Stroud of http://amandarenestroud.wordpress.com/ writes incredibly well. Her reviews are as long as mine, they make you want to find the book immediately, or stack a whole pile of them on your shelf and sit in your chair with a hot cup of something. Her poetry is fluid and beautiful, I have only recently discovered her as well. I am so happy to nominate her.

Cara at http://forkandbeans.wordpress.com/ is fantastic. I only just found her blog last month and it is everything I hoped it would be. Our family is mostly gluten-free because our eldest has severe allergies to a variety of food groups; most severely to wheat/gluten and nuts. Thanks to stores like Trader Joes, Whole Foods( yes, I know, it is very expensive ,although it really does depend on what you’re buying) and our local Farmer’s Market, we have survived it all. I cook almost everything from scratch and we eat fresh, keeping it 80% organic and seasonal, so we can stay on budget but eat well. Cara has fantastic recipes and her story alone, makes you see why going gluten-free is actually better for you. Cheers to you Cara.

http://titabuds.com/ – Tita is a wonderful photographer and writer. She writes with heart and her stories have character and most importantly humor. She has traveled around the world and thinks Colin Firth is the bees knees, just like I do. Her photos from her trip to Spain are incredible, if you get a chance to check them out, please do.

I’m sorry I haven’t nominated everyone for this particular award, there are others to be awarded. Please stay tuned. I thank everyone for the follows, likes and comments from around the world. I hope you enjoy my writing and continue to comment on my posts. I really do appreciate it.

I thought of you last night when I saw a preview of Downton Abbey and Rebecca Eaton along with Angela Lansbury gave us a little heads up. I cannot wait.

Ack!!! Now I’m embarrassed that it took forever before I read this and that it’s only now that I can thank you. But THANK YOU for the generous praise.
I guess it’s fairly obvious that I adore your blog and writing, too. Your letters to CF keep me updated on everything Firth-y and your book reviews are written in such a way that I have to nail my wallet shut or find myself buying every book you recommend. It’s always a pleasure to read your blog. 🙂
Now I’ll just sit here for a while and enjoy this giddy moment …
    Thanks, thanks!
